According to a report by the Wrestling Observer, WWE ended up nixing a planned feud for Luke Harper following his request to be released.
Harper hasn’t been used on WWE television outside of an appearance in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal since returning from injury and did request to be released from the company, which WWE denied, instead actually extending his contract.
However, according to Dave Meltzer WWE did have plans for him to be used, with a feud against the recently returned Sami Zayn being in the works, although the company scrapped those ideas.
