WWE “statement” on Brock Lesnar’s potential UFC violation, NSAC to consider $2.5 million payday in possible penalty, Mark Hunt responds angrily to red flag

– WWE issued a statement Friday night addressing Brock Lesnar being flagged for a potential drug-testing violation under UFC’s anti-doping policy.

“Brock Lesnar has not performed for WWE since WrestleMania and is not scheduled to return until Sunday, August 21,” the statement reads.

It appears WWE is implying that Brock’s status in-between WWE stints does not affect his standing with the company because he became inactive after WrestleMania and will not return until Summerslam.

Lesnar was still under contract to WWE when he returned to UFC on July 9, though.

– The executive officer of the Nevada State Athletic Commission told the L.A. Times that Lesnar’s $2.5 million payday will be factored into a monetary fine after reviewing Lesnar’s case.

“We can fine and suspend. I’m not saying his whole paycheck will be taken away, but he could be suspended and fined upon his case being heard and all the facts being presented,” said executive Bob Bennett.

As for Lesnar’s future fighting in Las Vegas, Bennett said, “It’s unfair and premature for me to comment on” until the process of reviewing a potential drug-testing violation is completed.

– Brock Lesnar’s UFC 200 opponent, Mark Hunt, responded angrily to the news of Lesnar’s potential violation.

Hunt told MMAFighting.com that he wants a cut of Lesnar’s $2.5 million pay and a severe penalty against Lesnar, or else he wants out of his UFC contract.

Prior to UFC 200, Hunt expressed concern about Lesnar being granted an exemption to fight, alleging that Lesnar was “juiced to the gills.”
