EASTMAN, GA — One of the men accused in the brazen daytime shooting death of underground rapper XXXTentacion in South Florida has been caught in rural Georgia and booked into jail, according to a report. The Telegraph reported that Robert Allen, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was found near Eastman, Georgia. He was reportedly taken into custody Wednesday by members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force.
“They got some information he was up in Eastman, possibly staying with his sister,” Deputy U.S. Marshal John Edgar told the newspaper.
The rapper, whose real name is Jahseh Onfroy, had apparently been shopping for a motorcycle at Riva Motorsports when he was ambushed in an apparent robbery. He was about to leave in his car when he was shot. Onfroy visited a bank shortly before the shooting and might have taken out cash for the purchase, attorney David Bogenschutz previously told The Associated Press.
Jurors in Broward County last week indicted Allen — also reportedly known as “Big Rob” and “Fat Boy”— as well as Michael Boatwright, Dedrick Williams and Trayvon Newsome on charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery with a firearm. Allen was allegedly recorded by surveillance cameras minutes before the shooting.
