Speaking in an interview with Téléfoot Chaine, 26-year-old French goalkeeper Yoan Cardinale admitted that he has suffered from depression after losing his #1 shirt to Walter Benitez at OGC Nice.
“I had a little depression, whilst hiding it all, but my mother knew, felt it and they have always been there for me and thankfully. You close yourself off, you stay home, you don’t want to see anyone, you fight with the missus for no reason, but really for no reason. She would tell me a joke and everything that she said to me, I took it badly when she wanted to do something for me and I didn’t want it. I wanted to speak with nobody, see nobody, I just wanted to remain with myself.”
