In an interview on Téléfoot this morning ahead of his 50th birthday, Zinédine Zidane notably inidicated that his intention was to continue in management, albeit without directly mentioning Paris Saint-Germain, where he has been linked recently.
On being asked whether he felt he had more to give to football, the French midfield legend responded that his work in management was not over:
“Yes [laughs]. I have a lot [left to give], or at least something. I want to continue along this path.”
RMC Sport reported earlier today that Zidane would not be heading over to Paris Saint-Germain this summer despite efforts from the Qatari ownership to secure his signature, but that the possibility remained open in the future.
With Mauricio Pochettino’s departure set to be confirmed, Nice manager Christophe Galtier is expected to arrive as his replacement, having been the priority choice of new sporting advisor Luis Campos, with whom he worked at Lille.
The Ballon d’Or winner has been without a club since leaving Real Madrid last year, and is set on becoming the next France manager should Didier Deschamps leave after the World Cup.
