Matt Riddle shocked the NXT faithful on September 17 when he came out at the very begging of NXT Takeover: WarGames. Riddle was not booked for the event but he called out Kassius Ohno and challenged him to a match.
Ohno agreed and though he was supremely confident, the fact is he did not last long. As soon as the bell rang, Ohno charged while Riddle’s back was turned. Riddle spun around just in time however and hit Ohno with a high knee,. The knee took Ohno off his feet and down for the count. The fans exploded and Riddle was extremely pumped up over the win.
Matt Riddle is one of the hottest free agent signings in recent NXT history. The King of Bros joined WWE’s third brand in August of 2018 and many WWE fans are already expecting some very big things from him in the company.
Riddle had issues almost immediately with Kassius Ohno. Fans knew it was only a matter of time until the two men would cross paths in the ring. They were indeed booked to compete in a match on an upcoming episode of NXT but Riddle evidently couldn’t wait until then.
Riddle and Ohno’s heat may or may not be over now. Whatever happens, it’s obvious that Matt Riddle has definitely arrived and NXT fans are surely anticipating what comes next.
