The French Football Federation’s Executive Committee today moved to confirm the professional league body’s decision to maintain a 20-team Ligue 1 format for the 2020/21 campaign.

The LFP’s General Assembly decided last week that Amiens and Toulouse would be relegated to Ligue 2 after all, despite the 2019/20 league campaign being shortened by 10 matches owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was their original decision in April, but they had been forced by the National Court to reconsider the matter following a semi-successful legal challenge by the two clubs.

Now the FFF has validated their decision, Toulouse and Amiens will play in Ligue 2 next season.
