PROGRESS Wrestling has been dealt a blow to its Super Strong Style 16 tournament plans as a WWE UK talent has been forced to withdraw from the competition.

In a video posted to the PROGRESS Twitter account, former WWE UK Champion, Tyler Bate, revealed he will be pulling out of the tournament due to a shoulder injury.

Bate doesn’t yet know the extent of the injury, but he suffered it during his Quarter-Final match with fellow WWE talent, Kassius Ohno.

Tyler Bate was scheduled to be in the semi-final today against Zack Gibson, who defeated fellow WWE UK talent, Pete Dunne to progress, but he is now unable to compete.

It has yet to be announced whether Gibson will simply get an automatic bye into the final, or if he will be forced to wrestle somebody else to earn his place.
