Foot Mercato report that Premier League side Brentford are interested in signing Nice striker Kasper Dolberg, with the Dane unsure of his future in Ligue 1 after a difficult season.

Having arrived in the South of France in 2019, the forward has struggled to impose himself, and his 6 goals in 26 appearances in the league this season put him behind Amine Gouiri and Andy Delort in the strikers’ hierarchy.

Overall, since joining from Ajax, he has 24 goals in 85 appearances, a rate which belies the initial promise he showed at the Eredivisie club where he scored 45 in 119.

Brentford, who finished 13th last season in the English top flight, appreciate his profile as a forward and are evaluating the possibility of signing him this summer.

Should he make the move across the Channel, Dolberg would be joining forces with several compatriots in the shape of manager Thomas Frank, as well as Mathias Jensen, Christian Nørgaard and Christian Eriksen, among other Danes in the West London team.
