There have been conflicting reports over the past few weeks on whether or not Vince McMahon and WWE “signed off” on Chris Jericho’s match against Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 12.

PWInsider.com reported that Jericho did indeed get permission from Vince McMahon and WWE to have the match, while F4WOnline.com maintained Jericho has been a free agent for six months, is not under contract to WWE, and did not need to receive permission to do the match.

Chris Jericho was the special guest on the latest edition of WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross’ “Ross Report” podcast, and during the show, via PWInsider.com, Ross revealed he just renewed his deal with AXS TV and will be voicing the Jericho vs Omega match at Wrestle Kingdom for the AXS TV broadcast which will air after the event airs live.

On the subject of whether or not Vince McMahon knew about Jericho’s plans to compete at Wrestle Kingdom, Jericho said he would not go into any specifics about the deal, but added he was smart about the situation and did not do anything to jeopardize his position in WWE or his relationship with the company. Jericho added that if Vince knew the positive effect the Wrestle Kingdom match can have on his own business, then he would have no problem with it taking place.
