Speaking ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s match against Ajaccio on Friday, Christophe Galtier revealed that Presnel Kimpembe (27) is nearing a return to action.

Kimpembe suffered a hamstring injury back in mid-September. At the time, it was predicted that he would miss six weeks, and the French international defender’s return is on schedule.

In a pre-match press conference, transcribed by RMC Sport, Galtier said, “He (Kimpembe) trained as normal, completing 100% of the session.”

However, Galtier added that he was not yet ready to be in the group, and will therefore be absent for the trip to Corsica, where PSG will face 18th-place side Ajaccio. For the fixture, PSG will once play with a back four. Due to Danilo’s injury and Sergio Ramos’ suspension, Galtier’s centre-back options are limited.

However, despite going off injured against Marseille, Danilo is expected to return in 10 days, meaning that PSG could soon return to full strength at the back.
