Tonight marks a VERY special night of NXT. As part of WWE Week, NXT is premiering for the FIRST TIME EVER on the USA Network, with a start time of 7/6C. It will also air once again on the WWE Network at its normal start time.
Tonight’s main event is headlined by a match to see who will go on to the Fatal 4-way #1 Contendership Match to face NXT Champion Andrade “Cien” Almas. Tonight’s qualifier will see the undefeated Aleister Black go against the leader of the Undisputed Era, Adam Cole.
Speaking of the champion, Andrade “Cien” Almas will be in action for the first time since defeating Drew McIntyre at NXT Takeover when he takes on Fabian Aichner.
Lastly, one half of the Iconic Duo looks to maker her mark against Ember Moon. Peyton Royce claims that Moon hasn’t faced her one-on-one, and she deserves to finish unfinished business to earn a championship shot.
NXT CHAMPION ANDRADE “CIEN” ALMAS vs FABIAN AICHNER
The NXT champion makes his way out to the ring, and that new gold is looking great on him. Zelina Vega is by his side as always, and the duo look confident as ever. This is clearly all gain for Aichner, who looks to showcase his skills against the NXT Champion. Aichner was featured on the Cruiserweight Classic, but has packed on a couple of pounds but lost no agility.
The match starts with Almas hitting Aichner with a surprise dropkick, and then goes for another but is caught by Aichner with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Almas rolls out of the ring, but that is no place to get away from Aichner, as Aichner hits a springboard plancha to the outside. WOW. Almas gets back in the ring, and Aichner gives chase by getting on the top rope and hitting Almas with a tornado DDT. Aichner goes for the cover but Almas is able to kick out at 2.
Aichner gets on the top rope, but Almas is able to get to his feet and knock him off the ropes, and Aichner falls to the outside. Almas, ever the opportunist, picks up Aichner and throws him into the steel steps. Almas throws Aichner back into the ring and quickly hooks the hammerlock and delivers his DDT for the victory.
Winner: Andrade “Cien” Almas

ONEY LORCAN & DANNY BURCH vs. THE AUTHORS OF PAIN
Both teams make their way out to the ring, and The Authors of Pain look pissed. As usual, they are led by Paul Ellering, and storm the ring for the first time since their loss at NXT WarGames.
Only Lorcan and Danny Burch start to take it to Akam & Rezar, delivering heavy strikes, forearms, and the Authors of Pain are shaken until they come back with double clotheslines, flooring their opponents. AOP quickly pick up their opponents and deliver the Super Collider stereo power bombs they’ve made famous, and then follow it up with The Last Chapter, combination Russian Leg Sweep/Clothesline From Hell to pick up the quick, decisive victory.
Winners: The Authors Of Pain
Two quick matches and two video packages so far to start NXT, I’m anticipating some great matches to finish the show.
